Project presentation

In cooperation with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Responsible Public Procurement project was launched as early as March this year, funded by EEA Grants under the "Good Governance, Responsible Institutions, Transparency" program.

The project aims to promote the principle of value for money in public procurement, primarily through the convergence and visibility of institutes such as MEAT criteria and preparatory market consultations. As part of its implementation, the publication of an analysis, strategy, 6 methodologies and more than 30 training activities and workshops focused on public procurers and procurers in Slovakia is expected.

Due to the need to collect data from Slovak practice, the Office's employees will also participate in preliminary market consultations of Slovak contracting authorities. The aim will be to monitor their attitudes to this practice and at the same time to gather information, which will then be used in the preparation of a methodology dealing with this issue.

Currently, the team of employees of the Public Procurement Office, set up specifically for this project, has been working for several months and is currently completing the already mentioned Analysis of the use of MEAT criteria in Slovakia. Participants in public procurement, as well as the use of these criteria due to the geographical distribution of the country, in particular according to higher territorial units, financial limits, the subject of the contract, the procurement procedure in terms of European Union funding or the width of competition. The result will be data that will help in creating a project strategy.
